The Mildred E. Mathias Botanical Garden was created to house some of the most diverse plants found around the world. It has served as sanctuary in the midst of Los Angeles, preserving rare plant species often hardly seen in the wild. These plants have aided in plant research on campus and have also promoted awareness and appreciation for the plant society.
